ABOUT US
Our History
B.O.P. Ram was founded by Doug & Sammie Villines in 1988. Doug Villines patented the use of the winch lift system used by B.O.P. Ram today. His invention is considered a safety breakthrough in the oilfield and is now used throughout the oil industry as a whole.
Over the years, Doug was recognized for his charitable activities and community involvement. He was inducted into the Weatherford Hall of Fame for his impact on growth in the community, received the 2003 Distinguished Service Award by the Weatherford Rotary Club, and received an honor from the State of Oklahoma for being a generous benefactor in our state. Doug passed in January of 2010, but the Villines Family carries on the legacy of honesty and integrity that has been integral to B.O.P. Ram since its beginning.
The Company’s core services include B.O.P installation and removal, called “nipple up” and “nipple down” and testing of the blowout preventer stacks (BOP’s). These services are available in the Oklahoma and West Texas facilities. Our combination truck fleet includes all-in-one, industry leading, vehicles complete with winches, built in torque wrenches and test pumps. Our trucks give our operators the ability to manage the job from start to finish with one vehicle. Dual testing and side entry testing is available to keep your job running efficiently. Our rental inventory is available anywhere in the continental U.S. We ship or deliver any rental equipment required for a job to be done. B.O.P.'s home operations are in Weatherford, Oklahoma. We have a West Texas facility in Seminole, TX and an East Texas facility in Kilgore, TX stocked with rental equipment and ready to serve. We services active oil and gas exploration companies, including Devon, Newfield, Cimarex, EOG, Anadarko, and Felix. B.O.P. Ram's seasoned management team oversees over 130 loyal employees. Field operations and rentals are supported by 30 stack lift trucks, 5 gin trucks and a fleet of forklifts and delivery trucks.
