Summary

This employee is to assist in the assembly, tightening and testing of the B.O.P. stack and its components.  Additionally, the employee will help load and unload his truck and provide any other labor requested.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work on a 24hr on call basis.

  • Bring any necessary equipment to the job, including proper PPE and all tools needed.

  • Assists Lead Off with the loading/unloading of the truck.

  • Assist Lead Off in “stabbing” the different components of the B.O.P.

  • Tighten all flanges of the B.O.P. stack using up to a 20 lb. sledge hammer.

  • Pull rope when not using a hammer.

  • Open and close manual valves at direction from Lead Off.

  • Use impact guns.

  • Set test plug.

  • Communicate with the rig crew.

  • Clean out ring grooves.

  • Assist with testing the B.O.P.

  • Help with any other general labor requirements.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, stoop, squat, climb stairs, climb B.O.P., stand for long periods, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • The employee is required to withstand exposure to heat and cold.

  • The employee is required to stay awake at all hours of the day or night and stay awake and alert for long hours.

  • The employee is required to swing a 20 lb. sledge hammer.

  • The employee is required to communicate effectively.

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

  • The employee must regularly push and/or pull up to 100 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high and/or precarious places, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.

  • Day and night shifts

  • Using harnesses
